A guided tour in the heart of the Royal Hotel Sanremo for the National Day of Historic Places of Italy

Italy is a land of history, culture and unparalleled artistic and cultural heritage. At every corner, practically in every city and town, there are glimpses and traces of an elegant past full of curiosities to discover. And with this in mind, on October 1st, 2022, the appointment with the National Day of Historic Places of Italy, organized by the association named the same, returns.
A special event that allows you to visit incredible places that combine to tell a small but crucial part of the history of our country. Exactly like the Royal Hotel Sanremo in Liguria which, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary, opens its doors to guided tours of the hotel on the occasion of the National Day of Historic Places of Italy.

How the National Day of Historic Places of Italy was born

The history of our country was not made only in large and sumptuous theatres of epic moments such as the Colosseum, the Piave, Piazza San Marco or the Aragonese Castle. There are bars that have supported the literary efforts of great artists such as Umberto Eco. Hotels that have hosted great historical figures on vacation such as Princess Sissi. Restaurants that have satisfied the tired bellies of directors after hours of filming like Pierpaolo Pasolini…
The need to recognize some places as emblems of Made in Italy hospitality and catering has thus led the Italian Historical Places Association to create an ad hoc day dedicated to these places. A special moment in which anyone can access, visit and discover small precious pearls such as bars, restaurants, pastry shops or hotels that have at least 70 years of history and that, inside, have original furnishings and environments. Final purpose? To make known a new face of the historical and cultural heritage of our country.
